To log in to your smart glasses you first need a smart glasses account. If you got one from your administrator, great! If not, request an invite. Once you have your user credentials, you reach out to your smartphone and download GemConnect in the Google Play store or Appstore. Use this smartphone to log in. Once its downloaded, open it and use your user credentials. This app will generate a QR code that you scan with your smart glasses scanner. This is how you log in! It saves a ton of time since you don't have to fiddle around with the small buttons on the smart glasses.
First check if you used the user credentials of a 'smart glasses user'. You cannot log in with your admin or dashboard user credentials. If you did, make sure you create a glasses user and try logging in again.
The preferred method of updating your Vuzix smart glasses is by using the embedded OTA (Over The Air) update mechanism, which require the Vuzix smart glasses to be connected to a stable Wi-Fi network with internet access.
Make sure your smart glasses are plugged into a 1.5 amp USB power source*.
Open the Settings application.
Select the “OTA System Update” option at the bottom of the list.
If an update is available, select “Install”.
Wait for the download, then reboot and install the update.
Once the smart glasses have fully rebooted following the update, your update is complete.
*Do not power-off or interrupt the M300 during the upgrade process the OS may become corrupted! If your OS is corrupted, contact Vuzix Technical Support for assistance.
